Wild Cactus

IMG_9164

Recently, La Lobana and wantable.co teamed up! We were sent one of their beauty boxes of the month – and may I add that we were impressed with the items we received! The box contained a few full sized beauty products, and one of the items was this gorgeous polish!

If you’re a nail polish addict, be sure to look forward to a nail polish in each beauty box from wantable.co. From the looks of it, they always include a Color Club polish in all of their boxes – which if you ask me, is awesome.

The thing is, right when I saw this polish…I just had to wear it. Yes, I know, I’m addicted to changing my nail polish but can you blame me? There are just too many colours out there for me to try! Anyhow, here’s how it looks:

IMG_9096

The color we received was Wild Cactus by the Color Club. What I decided to do was add a bit of white polish to each nail, kind of like an ombre affect. I’ve never tried any of the Color Club’s polishes before, but I can’t complain. I have nothing bad to say about this brand. My polish has not chipped yet and it’s been four days – which really surprises me, because usually, nail polish doesn’t last too long on my nails. In fact, I can see myself purchasing some polishes from the Color Club….especially if they have more gorgeous colours!

Be sure to keep a look out over the next few days for our full review on Wantable.co’s beauty box - you will not want to miss it!

Annabelle & Marcelle Cosmetics Spring Makeup Collection!

IMG_8668

It’s that time again! Annabelle and Marcelle cosmetics have launched another collection! We were very pleased with the products we received this time around, so let’s get to it and review the products!

bronzer
Biggy Bronzer in Haute Gold: I am in LOVE with this bronzer! It is absolutely gorgeous! I use it as a blush and it is just so perfect that it has become my “go-to” blush. As you can see, this is a shimmery bronzer with a slight orange undertone. I know the swatch gives away a dirty orange colour, but mind you, this bronzer will not make your face look orange (which by the way is something I tend to avoid). When applied to my cheeks, the bronzer gave me a beautiful peachy, summer-ready glow!

powderColour Control Pressed Powder in Medium/Dark:  A very fine and silky powder which can be used to set your foundation or to control any shine on your face. I personally haven’t used this product as much to know whether it’s a hit or miss. I will say though, since the powder is very fine, it does a great job to give you a nice smooth finish.  In addition, this powder is great to have on the go as it also includes a brush and mirror which I failed to take pictures of.

eyeshadowprimer

Velvety Eye Shadow + Primer in Rose: The product claims that it is antioxidant, waterproof, has a 12 hours hold and is crease proof. Honestly, I think its genius to have a your eye primer already placed in an eye shadow since it saves us girls the extra step! In this case though, I would probably use this product more as a primer alone than an eye shadow. I feel that this product or moreover the shade that was sent to me wasn’t too pigmented which is why it served more as a light base colour for my lids.

illuminizer
Colour Control Natural Finish Instant Perfecting Base: Amazing product! This primer will diminish the look of fine lines, giving you a flawless finish under your foundation. In fact, I have used this product alone with just a setting powder and it works just as great as a BB cream!

Colour Control Luminous Finish Instant Perfecting Base: Another amazing product! This product reminds me a bit of MACs Lustre Drops. You can apply this product as a base or you can mix it in your foundation before your application. Either way if you’ve always wanted to create that dewy, healthy, Kim Kardashian glowing skin, you sure as heck can with this! I also find that this product works gorgeous as a highlighter as well.

mascaraExpandable Mascara: This mascara is quite average. I’m not a big fan of Annabelle’s mascaras, I’m not too fond of their wands/bristles.

eyeshadowRoll-On Eyeshadow + Liner in Brown: Another 2 in 1 product very conveniently made. The roll-on eyeshadow is a really pretty shimmery brown colour. I really enjoy using this shadow on a daily basis as it gives me a really natural wash of colour over my lids. On the other hand, I wasn’t too amazed with the eye liner. Even though it looks pigment in the swatches above, it was really hard for me to get an even liner application. If you’re going to use this liner, you’re definitely going to need some re-applying.

Overall, I really loved Annabelle and Marcelle’s collection. This batch is definitely one of my favourites!

Beauty On the Go: Holiday Edition!

Hey lovelies!

We know we’ve gone MIA but things have been super chaotic lately and we’ve finally found the time to update our website. So we apologize for the lack of posts, but we are going to try to get back on schedule and have a few posts a week like per usual!

Everyone knows December is the busiest month of the year. With juggling work and/or school, Christmas shopping and ALL of those parties, there’s literally no time to just sit down and relax in December! And to top it all off, us girls want to look our best despite our busy schedules but sometimes, it’s just impossible to put aside an hour to get our makeup done. Which is why we wanted to share with you all a few tips on how to look your absolute best this holiday and still manage your hectic schedules!

aaa1

Smokey eye design, Lauren Conrad sequin dress for Kohls, Travalo mini perfume bottles & Velcro rollers worn by a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

Hair, hair, hair! Don’t  have time to shampoo or style your hair? Don’t worry! Always carry a travel sized bottle of dry shampoo, it’ll get rid of the grease on your head. And in terms of styling, if you want a super easy way to style your hair and still have it look fab, just get a mini set of velcro rollers (they usually come in a pack of four or six). Not only your hair look voluminous, but they also make your hair sweep out.

Makeup! If you want to save as much time as you can, we’d suggest applying your face makeup before hand (before you head to school or work). Just keep the makeup very minimal (ie. concealer, foundation, primer, mascara) and add primer so everything stays. Then all you’ll have left to do is your eye makeup and colour your lips in, which shouldn’t take too much time!

Outfit! Pre-plan your outfit the night or two nights before. Just hang it up on a hanger and cover it up with a bag and place it in your car! That way you will save a lot of time and can focus on your eye and lip makeup more.

Perfume! If you don’t have a travalo, we would highly suggest your purchase one! They are a life saver. All you have to do is grab your favourite perfume, pump it into your travalo and then ta-da! You have your favourite perfume in a cute mini perfume bottle that you can take anywhere!

We hope you guys enjoyed our little beauty on the go: holiday edition article! Our holiday gift guide is coming up very soon!

A Walk in the Park

My brother and I went for a stroll in the park across the street from where we live. The park is right by the lake and it’s absolutely breathtaking. The path that we took looks so magical every season. ‘Whether it be the cold, snowy winter days or the gorgeous full grown leaves on the trees in the summer – it simply looks enchanting.

My brother needed some pictures for a school project and I just wanted to share a few with all of you. Nature is so beautiful. I wish people would take one day out of their busy schedules just to take it all in.

It is truly bliss.

Nyx Wishlist

It is so rare to find Nyx cosmetics in Canada – the only way we can buy their products is by their Canadian online store, and even then it’s not as a great as going in person to a shop since we get charged $10.25 for shipping. I’ve created a small wishlist of the items I’ve been wanting from Nyx. Most of these items were selected based on reviews I’ve seen from bloggers and youtubers.

1. Nude on nude palette: 20 neutral eyeshadows and lip colors
2. Jumbo eye pencils
3. Round lipstick – in any color!
4. The curve liquid liner
5. Soft matte lip creams
6. Nyx nail polish – in any color!

What are some products you’ve been eyeing from Nyx?

Red, White & Black Fishtail Nails!

Hi lovelies,

I’ve been seeing that a lot of people have been doing the fishtail nail design and I thought I’d give it a try myself. I decided to do the design on one finger per hand instead of all of my nails. I just find it looks cuter that way – but if you wish to do the design on all of your nails, go ahead!

I honestly never wear red nail polish, but I decided to wear it this week solely based on the fact it’s been numerous months since I’ve worn it. These nails are super easy to do. I can create a tutorial if you’d like – just email me at lalobana@gmail.com or even comment on this post!

Born Pretty Points

Hi guys,

A while ago, I put up a post talking about the website Born Pretty - I just wanted to let you guys know about their point system which I just found out about! So, basically how their point system works is you write a review on a product or even the shop itself and then you sign up for their extended affiliate program on their website. There you will be asked to submit the link to your review, and within a few days you’ll see points in your account. These points can be used on any Born Pretty product.

I highly recommended you guys sign up for their program write a review on the shop, and maybe even buy one of their products and write a review. Their products are super affordable and they provide free shipping worldwide. This is an easy way to earn yourself some points and receive Born Pretty items for free!

Featured Brand: Born Pretty

I recently came across the website, Born Pretty. The site has everything, from nail polishes, nail art tools, beauty products and even iphone cases! I thought I’d do a featured brand post about them, because I just had to tell you guys about their products since their prices are so affordable.

Here are some of my favourites!

Red White Polka Dot Iphone Case

Red White Polka Dot TPU Rubber Skin Case Cover for Apple iPhone 4 4S 4G

I was browsing through their iphone cases and I saw a lot that I liked. Under the categories “bling” and “plastic hard covers” I found at least 5 in each of those categories that I loved. I actually purchased the case above today for only $2.66!! The price was just so reasonable. Stores that carry cell phone cases usually sell them for $10 and up, which is such a rip off if you compare it to Born Prettys prices.

In fact, I’m already thinking about what my next phone cover will be…possibly one of these two. Aren’t they cute? I’ve seen a ton of youtube gurus with the bow iphone covers, and Born Pretty sells them for $4.37. I also really love the flower case, it’s only for $4.79. Oh and did I mention Born Pretty ships free worldwide?! It honestly doesn’t get much better then that.

12 Color Line Nail Art Striping Tape Design

12 COLOR Line NAIL ART STRIPING TAPE DESIGN LINES SET

These past few months, I’ve seen everyone use metallic tape for nail art and I’ve always wanted to try it out. I haven’t found any good websites that are trust worthy enough to purchase a few metallic tapes. Some of them are so overpriced just for one kind of tape and I just find that a bit ridiculous. Whereas Born Pretty sells you 12 tapes for the price of $8.99.

12 Colors: 3D Steel Ball Nail Art

12 Color 3D Steel Ball Nail Art Glitter Decoration

Caviar nails anyone? We all know that’s still somewhat huge now a days. Although new trends appear every two weeks, I’d still love to get that whole caviar nails experience!

There are many more products that I fell in love with on Born Pretty, but I won’t bore you guys anymore and I’ll let you check out the site yourselves! Visit http://www.bornprettystore.com/index.php and let me know what some of your favourite products are!
