Trend alert! I’ve seen pastel clothing, accessories and bags everywhere. From being on the runway by Dolce & Gabbana, Miu Miu to Marc Jacobs. Everyone is going crazy for pastels this year!
Of course we all now know that pastels have made a huge debut this year, but now what? How on earth can we incorporate such colors into our daily outfits? Don’t fret – there are honestly so many different ways. From throwing on a pair of mint green pants to school, rocking a pale pink blazer at work and changing into that cute sheer maxi skirt when heading for a night out.
If you don’t have too much time to coordinate your outfit, you can always rely on four things: accessories, bags, shoes and nail polish! There are so many different types of accessories, from bracelets to rings to scarves any of them will give you the perfect touch of pastel in your outfit. And need I say less about shoes, bags and nail polish?! Again, there is a huge variety of bags and shoes available to use – just find your perfect shade of pastel and sport the new trend.

For a while now I had been contemplating on ways to make my hair look more alive. I have very VERY thick dark brown hair and I wanted to do something that would give it a bit more definition. This was a challenge for me since I don’t like to dye my hair or put it through any chemical based products. A few months ago I came across a DIY honey hair lightening video on YouTube by AndreasChoice. I was amazed at how the honey had completely changed her hair colour and so I was curious to know more about it. As I was researching, I became aware that cinnamon was another key component used to lighten hair. In fact, there had been a few before and after pictures that showed how effective this treatment was. Cinnamon has a natural peroxide value that helps to lighten hair over time. Not only does it lighten you hair but it also helps to achieve a subtle red colour, giving those with dark hair a light tint/highlight.
Since I have dark brown hair I wanted something that would give me results fast! I took up the challenge and went ahead and made a cinnamon paste consisting of a tablespoon of ground cinnamon and hair conditioner. The first time I applied this to my hair I had kept it on overnight and when I washed my hair the next morning I couldn’t believe the difference. In just one try I was able to get a subtle red tint in my hair! Since the first time was a success, I went ahead and tried the treatment two more times. This time I kept the cinnamon paste in my hair for 4-5 hours. After the third time, I was quite satisfied with my hair as it had gotten two shades lighter and decided not to lighten it anymore.
If you’re looking to lighten your hair I’d highly recommend using this method before you go out and get your hair done. Not only can you notice the difference after just one try but the effect lasts for a long time.

Hey guys!
It’s Neha here. It’s been a while hasn’t it? So much has been going on recently that I haven’t had time to post anything on the blog.
I thought I’d do something different then our usual nail tutorials, hauls and whatnot and just give you guys the lowdown on how my weekend went and what I did!
On Friday my school had a professional learning day, aka no school! I spent the day in Meadowvale visiting one of my close friends, Anuja. It was a girls day – all we did was catch up, hangout at her place and go for a few walks. I was so glad that we had a PD day on Friday. I’m at the point where I have to drag myself to school everyday. Summer and University are on my mind, I can’t even focus in school anymore. Graduation is so close that I can’t wait anymore!!
Speaking of Universities, I applied to three. York University for Communication Studies, Guelph Humber for Media Studies and Ryerson University three programs: Journalism, Radio & Television arts and their Arts & Contemporary Studies program. To be honest with you, I was extremely hesitant when I applied to Ryerson’s two prestigious programs, Journalism and RTA. Only 150 people get accepted into Journalism and I know there is also a small amount of students accepted for RTA (probably in the low 100′s or a lower number), I just thought it was next to impossible to be accepted to either programs since thousands of people also applied to them. However, I was in for a surprise yesterday evening. I logged onto OUAC (Ontario Universities Application Centre) and discovered I had been accepted to Ryerson’s Journalism program!! So far, I’ve been accepted to York and Ryerson for two of their programs (Arts & Contemporary Studies and Journalism). I still have yet to hear back for Ryerson’s RTA program as well as Guelph Humber. My acceptance to Ryerson for Journalism has put me in a dilemma though. I was so sure I was going to attend Guelph Humber this fall if I got accepted, because I thought Ryerson was out of the question. But now that I’ve been accepted I have no clue what to do! Ahhhh!
And how could I forget about mothers day?! We took our Mom out for brunch at one of our favourite restaurants called Saravanaa Bhavan, a south Indian restaurant which offers a variety of different foods. We all had some yummy Dosa (basically a crepe with lentils and whatnot). Other then that we just spent some quality time with our lovely mom.
Anywho, that’s basically my weekend! I hope you guys had a wonderful Mothers day weekend! And again, happy mothers day to all the wonderful moms out there. We’d be nothing without you!

Last week I received a few goodies from Eyes Lips Face and I can honestly say that I am in love with these products! ELF has some really great products and the best part is that they are extremely cost friendly. Everything besides the High Definition Powder is priced for $3. The powder retails for $6.
Pink Passion and Berry Merry
Pink Passion is a matte pink blush. Depending on your skin tone it can either look like a pale or hot pink colour. I have read other reviews which claim to say that this blush seems to be the perfect dupe for MACs Pink Swoon.
Berry Merry is a shimmery berry-rose colour. The blush is heavily pigmented and consists of gold flecks which may be a bit extreme if not used with a light hand. This blush also claims to be a dupe for NARSs Sin.
Warm Bronzer
ELFs Warm Bronzer is a gorgeous palette that will give your face that perfect healthy glow. Once again depending on your skin tone it can either be used as a blush to achieve that warm summer time glow or it can make for a beautiful highlighter.
Mineral Eyeshadow Primer in Sheer
If you’re on a budget and can’t afford to purchase Urban Decays Primer Potion this right here is the absolute perfect dupe! ELFs Mineral Eyeshadow Primer has a creamy texture and blends very well into the skin. Your eyeshadow will practically last all day without creasing!
Cream Eyeshadow in Dawn
Dawn is a beautiful brown-taupe colour with very subtle gold shimmer. This eyeshadow can be worn alone for an everyday look or can be used as a base. In fact, you don’t even need to use a primer underneath this since it doesn’t crease and lasts all day.

High Definition Powder
ELFs High Definition Powder has had a lot of raves especially since its another known dupe for Make Up For Ever’s High Definition Powder. I can’t say how similar the two product are since I have never purchased MUFE HD powder, but I will tell you that after you have applied this powder you are bound to achieve a flawless finish.
